Jill Copeland-Henderson
Owner, Licensed Massage Therapist
Jill received her certification in Clinical Massage Therapy and Neuromuscular Therapy in 2002 from Red Mountain Institute. She worked in Vail, CO for 3 years and then returned to Birmingham where she worked at Pilates on Highland for 9 years before taking partnership in Embody Practice Center. She took ownership of The Retreat in June of 2018. Over the years she has done extensive training in CranioSacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation and is a Certified Fertility Massage Specialist.
Christy Spratlin-Leake
Licensed massagE THERAPIST
Christy Spratlin-Leake graduated February of 2016 from Birmingham School of Massage where she completed dual certification, which included Clinical Therapy as well as Neuromuscular Therapy.
Christy has been a lifelong sufferer of Fibromyalgia and began studying to better understand how to help others in pain.
She co-owned and worked at Over The Mountain Massage Therapy for a short time before joining Halcyon Day Spa where she worked until they closed August of 2018. Before joining The Retreat Day Spa’s team she also worked at La Bella Skin & Wellness.
Christy enjoys helping those with chronic pain issues as well as those needing a good deep tissue massage.
Dana Levenberry
Licensed Massage Therapist
Dana graduated from the Virginia School of Massage in 2007. She is trained in Swedish and Deep Tissue Therapies with a focus on creating an atmosphere to promote Delta Sleep Waves. Dana is also trained in Fire Cupping and small animal massage. She most recently worked at Halcyon Day Spa and joined The Retreat full-time in September 2018.
Suzan Hu
Licensed Esthetician
Suzan received training from Skinactics Esthetician School in Birmingham in 2005 and worked at Halcyon Day Spa until their closing in 2018. She began working at The Retreat in September of 2018, where she is greatly appreciated for her vast skincare knowledge, gentle touch, and her ability to individualize each treatment.
She specializes in facials, waxing and dermaplaning. Suzan works with GM Collins and Eminence Organic Skin Care to individualize each facial. She is also proficient with microdermabrasion and can incorporate Oxygen Treatment into facials. She is masterful with hair removal, using NuFree, a non-wax botanical that does not stick to the skin and is antimicrobial, antibacterial, and non-irritating.
Anetta Jackson
Licensed Esthetician
and Instructor
Anetta trained as an Esthetician in Slovakia more than 20 years ago. She has been licensed in Alabama since 2000 and worked at Halcyon Day Spa for 15 years. She is also an instructor of Aesthetics. She specializes in facials, waxing, and dermaplaning. In September 2018 she began working at The Retreat Day Spa and is well respected for her intuition, loving touch, and ability to make any client feel comfortable and cared for.

Kay Howell
Licensed Esthetician
Kay graduated from Skinactics School of Esthetics in 2007, where Anetta was one of her instructors. After graduation she worked at The Spa at Ross Bridge for 9 years before joining us at The Retreat full time in March 2020.
She specializes in dermaplane, facials, and waxing, and loves working with Eminence Organic Skin Care. She has a gentle touch and truly loves what she does.
Danielle MCCoy
Licensed Massage Therapist
Danielle graduated from the Birmingham school of massage in the spring of 2019. She received certificates for Swedish massage and deep tissue/neuromuscular massage. “There are so many benefits from massage therapy for both myself and my clients. It’s given me a community, confidence and a fulfilling career. For my clients it gives them relief from chronic pain, anxiety and depression or time for relaxation away from the bustle of daily living. Listening to the needs of each individual is how I craft and mold the mixture of these two modalities into one to create each personal massage.”

Jessica graduated from Birmingham School of Massage in 2017, where she learned Swedish massage and Deep tissue/Neuromuscular massage. She previously worked at Sprio Salt Room and Massage therapy as lead therapist before joining us full time. “I would describe my style of massage as an in between of Swedish and Deep tissue. Firm but still relaxing. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and judgment free environment for everyone I work on.”

Lauren Yanti has been a licensed nail technician for almost ten years since her arrival to the United States from the paradise island of Bali where she is from. For the last few years Lauren has worked at Foxy Nails and Spa, building a large diverse and most impressively consistent clientele along the 280 corridor. With her skills and talents, Lauren built her clientele with her one on one approach to the business. She enjoys the time and service she devotes to her clients.

Mia Michelle has been a licensed nail technician for over 12 years. She spent her first 10 years working at Nail Envy. For her, doing nails is not just a livelihood but is her passion. She’s passionate on creating a comfortable space and providing excellent service to customers. She loves spending time with her clients and making them feel relaxed and comfortable. She loves being connected with them. Her focus is on creating healthy and beautiful nails. “I am so lucky and very grateful to be able to do what I love.”
